Denham is located 833km north of Perth on the Peron Peninsula and is the main settlement of the Shark Bay area on Australia's Coral Coast. Denham is famous for being Australia's most westerly town and is located opposite Dirk Hartog Island. It is the first place that Europeans visited on the Australian mainland.
Denham is the great way to explore the rest of the Peron Peninsula and the Shark Bay World Heritage Area with a number of tours operating from the town.
The popular Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is a mere 25 kilometers from Denham.
The Shark Bay World Heritage is best described as and area where white sand beaches meet crystal clear aquamarine waters and the contrasting red soil of the land. A diverse mix of sealife and wildlife combined with natural features not found anywhere in the world, makes this area truely unique.
Local attractions include Eagle Bluff, Stromatolites at Hamelin Pool, Shell Beach, Little Lagoon and Town Bluff. Most of these attraction are on the way to Denham and time should be taken to visit them.
