Hamelin Pool Caravan Park is not your usual stopover. It is a very special place, unlike anywhere else on earth. It is set amongst the buildings of the old Telegraph station, nestled against the backdrop of an enormous beach of shells, which rises to over 10 metres in height. 

The popular and entertaining Stromatolite Discovery Tour at the Telegraph Office building includes a video presentation, live aquarium display and a "hands on" collection of some of the earths most ancient fossils. 

The Boolagoorda walk trail which takes you through the Coquinite Quarry where nature has cemented these shells together to form a unique building material. A few minutes walk further on brings you to the shore of Hamelin Pool, where you will discover the extraordinary Hamelin Pool Stromatolites.
