Kalbarri Flood

Contrary to some news reports, Kalbarri has not been flooded by the flood waters coming down the Murchison River. All accommodation, activities and sight seeing venues are open and unaffected. All roads are open.

We have just visited Kalbarri where we found the flooding has provided the best ever viewing of the river gorges with the water flowing fast and providing a sight that occurs once every 100 years.

Full access to the gorges by car is available or you can see this magnificent sight of the fast flowing river by Coach tours, whilst air charters can fly you over the gorges. The River Cruise boats will be able to take you further up the Murchison River than ever before.

Ocean and off shore fishing is available with charter boats operating from nearby Port Gregory.

River Fishing - Good size catches have been reported from the river mouth from a new sandbar that has formed.
